Why is the Flare charcoal basket made of cast iron? Cast iron is virtually indestructible and ideal for use in charcoal baskets. A special coating protects the basket against corrosion. The material stores heat excellently and distributes it evenly across the whole basket, so the coals keep burning efficiently and evenly. Another characteristic of cast iron is its high weight, which gives the Flare an extremely low centre of gravity and makes it very stable against tipping. Even if it is knocked over by accident, it rights itself again and the coals stay in the basket. Colorway: anthracite. Height: approx. 37.5 cm. Weight: 1.6 kg. Material: cast iron and powder-coated aluminium. Notes: the coating may show slight unevenness. The body is made of iron and can rust if damaged or exposed to the weather.
