The taste of the FRED Original cigarette was developed on the basis of an American Blend, meaning that 3 tobacco varieties are used: Virginia, Oriental and Burley. The Virginia tobacco comes largely from the United States. These tobacco leaves have been dried with warm air. The colour is very light and the aroma is best perceived in the mouth.Burley is a chocolate-coloured dark tobacco. It comes above all from Europe and gives a slightly salty, nutty taste at the back of the throat. Compared with the FRED Original, we have used a slightly different and sweeter Burley tobacco from Colombia and Greece, which results in a lower tar and nicotine content – which is how we arrived at the name Juicy Taste. FRED cigarettes have a far higher proportion of Oriental tobacco than conventional cigarettes. The aroma is very sweet and can be perceived beautifully through the nose.
